The big news making headlines is how new vegan companies are popping up everywhere backed by major investors like Bill Gates. Entrepreneurs are starting to take the vegan lifestyle seriously. What is equally as surprising is established companies are making new vegan products. Old institutions like Ben and Jerry's and Hellman's (both owned by Unilever) are rocking their foundations by veganizing ice cream and mayonnaise. Fast food restaurants like Wendy's and Taco Bell are adding vegan-friendly products to their menus. New vegan restaurants are popping up everywhere like Chef Matthew Kenney's 00+Co opening on Thursday features wood-fired pizzas with nut-based cheese, plus small plates, vegan ice cream, and organic wines. Forbes Magazine just did a big piece on a party I went to called Querciabella's Vegan Delights at Exhibition C where we were treated to a tasting menu which you can read about in my What Vegans Eat blog post. Normally reserved for those upscale meat restaurants, vegan chefs like Daphne Cheng are getting into the act with AMAZING menus of exotic and incredibly complex dishes. Here are our recommendations for REAL Romantic Valentine's Day dinner.
