Breakfast: Winding down with just a few more days of paradise, we enjoyed our oatmeal again by the pool while we listened to some vintage Bill Evans jazz recordings on the Beats Pill for a smooth morning.

Dinner: Finally, the day we’ve been waiting for, the reason why we are here, Gary’s dad’s 90th birthday party, celebrating along with his twin brother! We like to joke sometimes and say when we are on our way to a party with omnivores. “at least there will be hummus.” And there was. A giant bowl of freshly made hummus that would go on for days along with a bowl of bruschetta filling (tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil) and toasted bread drizzled with basil-infused olive oil.

There was a platter of luscious fruits which I enjoyed with a little champagne.

Lots of crudités for dipping in the hummus.

I put together three of these plates over the course of the party filled with hummus, bruschetta, broccoli, artichokes, celery and olives and I sipped on a delicious red wine.

Just like for Gary’s party earlier in the month, we got the vegan, gluten-free carrot cake from Icing on The Cake in Los Gatos. It was fun to see kids of all ages, from 1 to 100, literally, line up for cake!
