What Vegans Eat – Day 499: Special Travel Edition

Share

Breakfast: I knew I’d be going out for lunch and was still a bit full from the dinner the night before. I had a half of a Banana and some ripe, juicy Plums fresh off the neighbor’s tree.

Lunch: My friend Nancy from San Francisco came down for a visit. We walked around downtown Los Gatos and then when we got hungry we went into Hanna’s. Gary and I went there a few times last year and had not been back. When I asked the server what dishes were vegan he asked me, “Do you want to see the vegan menu?” That was music to my ears! He brought out a paper menu which wasn’t a vegan menu per se. It was the same as the original menu, only each item was highlighted stating whether it was vegan or gluten-free or could be made so. Still, I was thrilled. I ordered the Lemongrass Tofu on the lunch menu. It came with Spring Rolls and a small Cabbage Salad which arrived first.

The Lemongrass Tofu was yummy, served with Jasmine Rice.

Dinner: Gary made a nice light dinner later on. I was not very hungry and enjoyed this simple Tomato/Avocado/Kidney Bean/Green Onion Salad.
