What Vegans Eat – Day 702: Travel Edition

Breakfast: We survived a day without power and when we awoke, it was still off. I repeated the dish I made the night before for breakfast: Corn Thins with Avocado and Cherry Tomatoes and a generous squeeze of fresh Lemon. Gary ate the Oatmeal that was leftover from the morning before.

Lunch: Fortunately, I had charged my computer and phones at the theater during the rehearsal last night and could get a little work done. We went to Whole Foods, now becoming a daily routine here for Green Juice. I ordered a “Build Your Own Burrito”. It had Brown Rice, Black Beans, Corn Salsa, Tomato Salso, Red Onions and Lettuce.

Dinner: While I was teaching the cast music, Gary went to Veggie Grill and had his favorite B-Wing Salad (vegan Buffalo Wings over chopped romaine, avocado, celery, tomato-corn salsa, creamy ranch dressing). In the middle of rehearsal Gary stopped in to give me a hot cup of tea from Peets and a Veggie Grill Masala Bowl with Chana masala (spiced chickpeas), turmeric roasted cauliflower, supergrains, steamed kale, hemp seeds, cilantro/green curry sauce, raita and garlic flatbread. The tea was perfect, especially since I have a little cold. It warmed me right up. I devoured the Masala Bowl when we got back to the pool house.
