What Vegans Eat – Day 878, Travel Edition

Breakfast: While we are here in San Jose I seem to be finding time every day to do a little work. I just don’t like things to pile up. But today was a complete day off. It was planning to be a hot one, reaching 98oF. The beach was on the horizon. But first we were meeting Raya, one of Gary’s former students who has become a good friend. Gary and I drove to downtown Los Gatos and had a little picnic breakfast in the amphitheater. We had Strawberries, Blueberries, Cherry Tomatoes, Apricots, Plums and Almonds.

We walked into a few stores and then went to the Los Gatos Roasting Company where we were meeting Raya. I had a Gen Maicha and Gary chose the caffeine-free Fruit Basket, a hibiscus tea with dried fruits.

Lunch: After chatting for a long while with Raya she wanted to take us to lunch. Andalé was right around the corner and we haven’t been there yet on this trip. I had the Fajita-style Tofu Tacos and Gary had the Fajita-style Tofu Burrito.

Dinner: We spent the rest of the day at the Seacliff State Beach in Aptos. It was so lovely. Afterwards we met Gary’s brother and sister-in-law for dinner, although we didn’t eat since we weren’t hungry. I had a Martinelli’s Apple Juice. It was a treat. I never drink fruit juice. And Gary had soda water. When we drove back to the house we are staying at we were ready for some food. We had some leftovers from yesterday’s fantastic dinner which included Kale and Onions, Roasted New Potatoes and Salad. Afterwards we finished up the Raw Fruit Tart. There was not a lot left over from last night.
