What Vegans Eat – Day 919

Share

Breakfast: The Kale and Collard stems are collecting in the refrigerator. It was time to make a new batch of Sludgies. This time I blended the stems with water, Bananas, Celery, Carrots, Peanut Butter, an Apple and Cacao Nibs. My Sludgy is not for everyone! But it is for me. I love how it takes a long time to eat it because of all the fiber and when it is done I don’t think about food for a long time. Satisfaction!

Gary is not a Sludgy-aficionado. He made a beautiful bowl of precooked Steel Cut Oats with Apples and Apricots and topped it with Bananas, Walnuts, Apricot Butter and Almond Yogurt.

Lunch: After our long walk, I suggested making it longer and stopping at Green Zenphony for lunch. I got myself my usual cocktail of Red Cabbage Juice and Lemon.

We ordered three Lunch items and they all came with soup, so we got one of each: Wonton, Miso and Hot & Sour. I love them all.

I tried the Bean Curd with Black Bean Sauce today – excellent choice!

We shared a plate of Mixed Vegetables, and I took all the mushrooms!

Gary went for the Veggie Beef Chow Fun.

Dinner: Buckwheat cooked with Carrots and Collard Greens made a colorful plate. I topped mine with Shiitake Mushrooms. I love them. Gary’s choice of toppings were Sriracha Sauce and Nutritional Yeast.

Evening: We each treated ourselves to a few Ginger Chews! Ginger Chews are also known as Gin Gins or Chimes. A Ginger Chew by any other name would taste as sweet, and hot.
