With so many vegan cookbooks coming out all the time, there are so many to choose from. Here are our REAL Favorite Cookbooks of 2012.

1. Ramses Bravo, BRAVO! Health-Promoting Meals From The TrueNorth Kitchen
This is my personal favorite because Ramses Bravo has created recipes that are not only delicious but so good for you; sugar, oil and salt free (SOS-Free). While I do eat salt, sugar and salt on occasion, I believe SOS-free food is the healthiest way to go. This cookbook shows us how, deliciously.

2. Nava Atlas, Wild About Greens
I am always talking about the power of healthy, dark green vegetables. I know they helped save my life. Thanks to Nava Atlas, we finally have a cookbook devoted to them. We all need to eat more greens.

3. Miyoko Schinner, Artisan Vegan Cheese
This book is a game changer for people who say they can’t go vegan because they love cheese. Now you can make cheese at home from plant based foods, nuts, seeds and soy. I am sure we will be seeing cheeses like the ones in this book available soon in supermarkets which will only help improve our health, heal the environment and reduce exploitation of animals.

4. Roberto Martin, Vegan Cooking For Carnivores
The title says it all. This book lets the light in for those who don’t think vegan cuisine can be tasty or satisfying. All the comfort foods are in this book, including Southern Fried Chick’n.

  1. Great list. And I’m chuffed to find books that are actually new to me–always such a pleasure! I adore Nava’s and Terry’s recipes already, and have been drooling over Artisan cheeses. Thanks for the reminder to get it! 🙂
