What Vegans Eat – Day 938

Breakfast: I actually made it through this day and can now write about it! It began at my parents’ home. I slept over after bringing my dad home from the hospital. We were going to see his primary care doctor today and take some more tests. Then I needed to get back home and get ready for my radio show. Drs Dean and Ayesha Sherzai were my guests, talking about their new book The Alzheimer’s Solution. Their message is how a plant-based diet and exercise can reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease by 90%! I couldn’t wait to speak with them. And then I remembered Gary and I had tickets to see the Prince of Broadway at 7pm. Could I do it all?? First I grabbed a quick breakfast: Rolled Oats, Strawberries, Blueberries and Almond Milk.

Dinner: After the doctor’s office, we rushed into CVS to pick up a prescription and then I dropped my parents at their home. When I arrived home I was so fortunate to find a parking spot. We don’t own car and when we rent one it is next to impossible to park. Since I borrowed one of my parents’ cars a few weeks ago I have not had a problem parking! I hope this continues. Once at home I set up for my show. Please listen and share it. This information about Alzheimer’s is so important!! After the show I sat down and enjoyed a wonderful, quick meal (thank you Gary) consisting of Kale Salad with Barley, Walnuts and Tomatoes and a Baked Potato. I was so hungry.

Evening: The show was just what I needed to get my mind off everything else. Prince of Broadway is a musical revue showcasing the producing and directing career of Harold Prince. There were lots of songs that Gary and I were familiar with or had performed ourselves. Once back at home I wanted a beer! We had a bottle of Sam Adams Boston Lager that we shared.

We splurged with a little treat of Field Roast Frankfurters on gluten-free English Muffins with Homemade Sauerkraut.
