This is an easy flavorful sauce that you can serve with sauteed vegetables, top on whole grains or use in a wrap.

1 can organic, salt-free black beans or 1 1/2 cups cooked beans
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
1 tablespoon miso
water

In a blender mix together beans, vinegar, miso and spices. Add water, if necessary to make a smooth, creamy, thick sauce. Heat in a small saucepan if desired and top on veggies or whole grains.

  1. It looks good. I know that beans take a long time to cook, but If possible I would like to see more bean recipes. You have a lot of tofu/soy recipes, but not that many bean recipes. /Thanks.

    • We have a lot of bean recipes on the site, many of them are in soups. You make an important comment and I will work on making a category entry in our recipe index for recipes with beans. Plus, you’ll be seeing many more bean recipes soon. Keep up with the “What Vegans Eat” blog.
