My insurance company likes to engage its member community. I appreciate that. Every Monday we are invited to give our thoughts on a specific subject or a query. Sometimes we are invited to participate in a survey. I can’t resist giving my opinion, especially when asked. I see this as an opportunity to educate the public and my insurance company on the benefits of a whole food, plant-based diet.
Today, I was asked to take a survey regarding the company’s Pharmacy Page. The page has lots of helpful information on where to get your pharmaceuticals, what they cost, getting refills, etc. I don’t take drugs so at first I thought I wouldn’t have much to say. One question asked what resources might be included on this page. I smiled to myself. I suggested providing information based on the up-to-date scientific research on how to reverse or prevent disease so that pharmaceuticals wouldn’t be needed, or at least could be minimized. For example, if someone was looking to fill a prescription for insulin, some helpful articles could appear to inform the member that Type 2 diabetes is preventable and often reversible. And for those with Type 1 diabetes, a whole food plant-based diet can help them minimize the insulin they require, reducing further health risks down the road. And there can be recipes too that let people know eating a whole food plant-based diet can be delicious and full of variety.
I thought this was a great idea! What do you think?
Love your show on prn.live. Thank you
I’m looking for a very easy spinach burger recipe. Do you
have one. I looked them up and they call for eggs or
chia gel. Any thoughts.
I know you are busy for 8 weeks so no hurry
Elaine
Hi Elaine. We are here to help! What other ingredients are in the spinach burgers that you are looking at, or that you would like? I should have more time in May once rehearsals are over. Thanks for listening! – Caryn
