What Vegans Eat – Day 1270, Travel Edition – Bay Area, CA

Breakfast: I am enjoying starting my day with Lentil Soup. I have discovered this before and then forgotten. Red Lentil soup when cooked a lot gets soft like porridge. It has the feel of eating cooked cereal.

Lunch:
Now that we are running the show I can sleep in. Unfortunately Gary still has stuff to do and be with the teens in the morning, so I don’t really sleep in since he has to get up. It is nice to relax and move slowly in the morning. It’s how I like the day to begin. I did my carb-loading before conducting 2 shows. It’s a very physical activity and I am standing for over 5 hours. I prepared a bowl of cooked Millet with fresh Tomatoes and Tahini Dressing.

Dinner: After the first show finished I couldn’t wait to eat! We had a container of Steel Cuts Oats that I had prepped this weekend. It’s delicious. I grabbed a paper cup and plastic spoon from the room with the show’s concessions and served myself some oats and topped it with Walnuts. I made a quick visit to Gary’s sister Deb’s house to drop something off. I left with more than what I came with. Deb filled a bag of Nectarines, Avocado and a chocolate bar for me to take. I was grateful. I had a Nectarine right away.

Evening: We are officially halfway through with our 8-show run. Only two more days. I am officially tired too. I brought out the savory food: Sauerkraut, Sliced Avocado, Sliced Tomatoes, Garbanzo Bean Flour Flatbread.

I wanted to make some Avocado Maki, but did the sloppy version, just putting Millet and Avocado in a sheet of Nori and scrunching up to eat.

We finished up with a few pieces of Dark Chocolate (85%).
