Breakfast: It was the day after Easter and the Monday after a big weekend of holiday food. We craved simple, organic fruit: ripe succulent pears and crisp crunchy apples with jasmine tea.
Lunch: A late lunch before an evening out consisted of kale salad with a variation of our Seed Caesar Dressing with added fresh lemon juice, leftover vegan Mushroom Brisket, quinoa “matzo” balls, vegan gefilte fish and a dessert of homemade, vegan, gluten-free cannoli.
We attended the book release party at ABC Home for Living The Farm Sanctuary Life. We have 3 recipes in this book!
Here I am with the omelette recipe
And here’s Gary with the incredible Osso Vita recipe.
There were colorful crudités to munch on along with white wine and sparkling water.
We listened to Jane Velez-Mitchell interview authors Gene Baur and Gene Stone.
Gary and I got a quick pic with the two Genes.
Always a joy to see Joy Pierson of Candle Café, Candle 79 and Candle West. And it was her birthday! She told me when going through my cancer treatment 8 years ago that “love heals”. I will never forget that. When I heard her say it, I knew I would be well. We both got chills when we realized we were standing next to a poster that said “True Love Heals”. It’s true, it’s true!

Afterwards, some friends invited us to join them at Gustorganics. They explained that this restaurant recently went all vegan. The menu was amazing and I felt bad that I wasn’t hungry. Gary and I shared the Tofu Sticks (which were like fried mozzarella sticks with a spicy tomato dressing) and the Tempeh Taquitos. I forgot to photograph the food, so here’s the menu.
