What Vegans Eat – Day 561


Breakfast: When we got up in the morning the kitchen table was beautifully set for breakfast. We had some of the Fresh Fruit from the day before, Pineapple Strawberries, Oranges and I added a Banana to mine. I selected some Chinese Restaurant Tea for my hot beverage.
Lunch: My parents drove us back to Queens and we took them out for lunch at our favorite place in the ‘hood’, Green Zenphony. I started with Hot and Sour Soup. It was the best I had ever had anywhere!
Gary ordered his favorite Veggie Roast Pork Noodle Soup. It always looks so good!
We got an order of Stir Fried Pea Pod Leaves for the table. My mom never had them before and she loved them.
My mom was confused about what to order and Gary insisted she get the Veggie Beef Chow Fun. She loved it!
I ordered the Pineapple with Veggie Duck and my Dad went with the Veggie Chicken with Cashews. All the dishes came with the wonderful Brown and Red Rice mix.
The owner, Wendy, came by our table. My dad was happy to tell her we had frequented her other restaurants in the past, including Green Melody in Jericho. Thank you Wendy for coming out of retirement to bring Green Zenphony to our neighborhood.
Of course we had to have something with a candle in it for mom’s birthday. We ordered the vegan Cheesecake which came with Watermelon and Mango Pudding. Happy birthday mom!
Dinner: When dinner time came around I was so glad Gary sliced up the Cantaloupe. It was exactly what I wanted.
