Breakfast: Settling in here in Monte Sereno for a few days, preparing for the next show we are directing, The Sound of Music. It goes well with Oatmeal, cooked with Apples, Raisins and Oolong Tea.
Lunch: Gary took off to visit his dad and left me alone in this quiet and peaceful place to catch up on my work and get over my cold. When I got hungry, lunch was simple. I opened a container of organic Garbanzo beans, rinsed them off and put them in a bowl. They disappeared in minutes.
Gary returned a few hours later and made Smashed Rainbow Gems Fingerling Potatoes with Green Onions and Tahini Dressing. It was like warm potato salad, only better. It was comfort food and we needed it. We just learned that the producer couldn’t get the rights to put on The Sound of Music so we had to decide on an alternative musical, and fast.
Dinner: We joined Gary’s brother and sister-in-law in the big house to make some dinner. First course – Baby Kale Salad with Tahini Dressing, always perfect.
Second Course – Soup. Gary had picked up some organic, low sodium Vegetable Broth, Sweet Potatoes and Tofu and cooked them together. He added in some cooked Quinoa, Tomatoes and Baby Kale. We’ll be doing this one again. It was just right.
