What Vegans Eat – Day 1266, Travel Edition – Bay Area, CA

Hell Week has officially begun. We begin dress rehearsal tomorrow and open on Thursday. We still need certain costume pieces and props. The clock is ticking… I brought my thermos of Maté and sipped on it during the Sitzprobe with the Teen Cast and our 5-piece orchestra. They are doing wonderful work. I got really dehydrated conducting our Saturday Sitzprobe with the Adult Cast so I was careful to drink a lot today.

Lunch: We finished going through all the music by 2:30pm and I took my lunch break. My plate included all the good things I had prepped ahead of time: Greens, Sauerkraut, Black Bean Stew with Corn and Peppers, Millet, Guacamole.

I washed it all down with an Evolution Green Juice. While I loathe buying drinks in plastic I am grateful for these juices to hydrate and nourish me while away from home.

Dinner: After the teen rehearsal and before the Tech Rehearsal with the Adult Cast, Gary and I went out to celebrate how well things were going. Gary dropped me at the Pressed Juicery to order the Freeze while he waited in the car. We didn’t have a lot of time and parking is difficult. I surprised him by splurging on toppings: Coconut, Strawberries and Almonds, toppings that are gorgeous, colorful and good for you.

Evening: Back at the basement apartment we are staying in we had our Rice Cakes with Jam. Today’s jam is Plum/Cherry made by one of our cast members, Tonya. Very sweet – the jam, and Tonya!
