What Vegans Eat – Day 1366


Breakfast: I am flying to Houston today on a five-day trip. After working the elections yesterday I was exhausted this morning but I managed to get myself together with Gary’s help and get to the subway and bus to the airport. Gary made me pack yesterday’s leftovers. I resisted and he insisted. I’m glad. I gobbled them up when I got to the airport – Sweet Potatoes, Baked Tofu and Vegetable Pie.

For dessert, a sweet, ripe, soft and juicy Pear.

Dinner: At the hotel I am staying at they had a Beer & Wine event at 6pm. I walked over to the lobby and took a little Cantaloupe. I was driving so the alcoholic beverages were not for me.

I went with the two people I am traveling with to a vegan spot called Sunshine’s Vegetarian Deli & Health Food Store. The location was hard to find and it was funky when we got there, but the food was very good. I had a Black Bean Patty Salad with a Chipotle Mayo Dressing.

I also got a side of Garlic Kale Salad. The garlic was very strong and I think it will be with me for a few days!
