What Vegans Eat – Day 1474

Share

First Meal: Gary was off to the theater for the matinee performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I plan on joining him for the evening show. I served myself some organic Rolled Oats today, with organic Strawberries, organic Pumpkin Seeds and organic Soy Milk and I made a pot of organic Maté.

Second Meal: Gary came back to the house in between shows. I was working on the slide show for his dad’s upcoming funeral so he made lunch: organic Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, frozen organic mixed Vegetables, and an organic Kale and Arugula Salad with Tahini Dressing.

Third Meal: The show is getting better with each performance. Gary’s cousins Lou and Amy came to see it. My friend Ann was also there. We were delighted to see them. We decided to go out afterwards. I was thinking to go to a Japanese restaurant that I knew was open late. I suggested going to Ozumo which was in Santana Row. When we got there it was loud and crowded with a private party and I realized I had meant to recommend Kenji just outside of Santana Row with easy parking. Ann was a quick thinker and called La Rive Gauche just down the street. We went there. They had a classic French menu. When I lived in France I used to always order a Salade Nicoise, without the tuna, anchovies and egg. I did the same tonight and had a great salad. They also had a vegan Roasted Eggplant soup. Everyone but me ordered it. I wasn’t in the mood for soup! Gary got a simple Butter Lettuce Salad.

Snack: It was late when we got back to the house but we were still hungry. We found organic Corn Thins at the Staff of Life recently and they are our favorite late night snack food, served with organic Bananas, organic Peanut Butter and organic Tahini.
