First Meal: Gary and I are teaching workshops in California for the next two weeks. It’s an intensive for the students as well as for Gary and me. Intense for us because we have classes from 10am to 4pm on weekdays and then evening classes from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. We got up at 8am. I made quick organic bowls of Rolled Oats with Strawberries, Raisins, Blueberries, Bananas and Soy Milk and ate while preparing my webpage for my radio show tomorrow with Robin Lamont which I prerecorded. I enjoyed reading her newest thriller, The Experiment about dogs used for lab experiments (and so much more, read it!)
Second Meal:
After the morning class we go outside to the “Steps of the Palace,” a place outside the theater where there are brick steps surrounded by foliage. It’s quiet there. We had an organic Wild Rice blend with Kale, Tomatoes and Tahini Dressing.
Third Meal:
With a long evening ahead I took a break at 4pm with my pianist Mavis and we had an early dinner at the Crepes Bistro. I have been curious about the Tofu Scramble but I always end up ordering a crepe. Mavis got the scramble and I got to try it. Now I know what to order next time!
I had the Quinoa Power Bowl. You can’t see it but there are lots of goodies in this bowl: organic quinoa sauteed with tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, spinach, green onions, and a special spice blend, topped with fresh romaine, parsley and lemon tahini sauce.
Snack: After a long day we got back to the house we are staying in and had a nibble of Avocado and Tomatoes with Tortillas.
And we had a few small bites of Sjaak’s Chocolates.
