What Vegans Eat – Day 1741

Share

First Meal: Yesterday when we finished the load of Ezekiel bread Gary requested I make the next loaf. So I did, this morning, a four grain, gluten-free seed bread, with Oats, Millet, Corn and Rice.

When it was done we enjoyed some with a hearty Lentil Vegetable Soup.

Homemade Hand Cream: Just like my food, I want to put products on my skin with simple, pure ingredients, not synthetic, industrial chemicals. I made hand cream with 1/2 cup Shea Butter, 1/4 cup Cocoa Butter and 2 Tablespoons Coconut oil. I melted them all together and then let the mixture cool. When it was firmed, I whipped it with a hand mixer. It was fun! It looked delicious. I jarred it and now we are enjoying using it on our skin with no worries about putting toxins in our bodies.

Second Meal: We had plans to meet my cousin Donna who is visiting from Florida with her boyfriend Tom. I suggested going to Candle 79, BECAUSE IT IS CLOSING! Can you believe it? I can’t. The landlord will be knocking down the corner to build a luxury condominium. NO! Get there before 12/31/2019 while you can. Gary and I got there early and had drinks. I chose the Green Goddess, a green juice. I always request no apple. It was the best with lots of spicy ginger. Gary had a beer.

First up was the Amuse Bouche, luscious little cheesy balls.

Gary and I had appetizers, Onion Rings and Polenta Fries. These are so decadent. What a treat.

Tom got the Roasted Cauliflower plate.

Donna went for the Butternut Squash Ravioli.

It took me a while but I chose one of my favorites, the Wild Mushroom Crepe.

Gary had to have the Seitan Picatta. It’s tradition!

The awesome manager Benay was off today but she knew we were coming and had this dessert given to us, Chocolate Peanut Butter Bliss. It was blissful.

We are so sad that this beautiful restaurant has to close. We will be back as often as we can until 12/31/2019. See you there on Thanksgiving!
