What Vegans Eat – Day 1748

First Meal: We had a date with our friend Lawrence at Green Zenphony. He often sings at a nearby church during the Christmas season and we try to get together when he does. We began with Veggie Duck Cold Cuts, Bean Curd Skin stuffed with Mushrooms. Lawrence and I love this dish. Gary does not.

 
Gary does love the Veggie Ribs.

 
We also got the Veggie Pork. I didn’t like this as much as the Ribs. I think this dish is too sugary. But the boys like it.

 
I tried the Taro Veggie Chicken a la King, Mashed Taro with Zucchini, Soy Protein Chicken, Black Mushrooms, Red Bell Peppers, fresh Soy Beans and Jicama, in a light brown sauce, topped with cashew nuts and I loved it. This is now on my list of favorites.

 
Gary’s recent favorite is the Orange Sensation with Seitan and Asparagus. Lawrence chose the Three Cheers Casserole with Soy Protein Chicken with Black Mushrooms, Carrots, Snow Peas, Basil & Zucchini simmered on a hot clay pot.

 
Second Meal:
Our lunch was very filling. Later in the evening we had Apples. I also made a little soup from the small amount of leftovers from lunch.
