What Vegans Eat – Day 1747

Share

First Meal: Today is Funday! It’s a Saturday and we are planning to enjoy ourselves. I began with the Smoothie I had prepared last night, with Kale, Celery, Blueberries, Banana, Cashew Yogurt, Cacao Nibs and Pears.

Second Meal: The plan for today was to look at floor tiles to replace our beat up wood kitchen floor and then look for vegan shoes for winter. Tile shopping was shocking for me! Our apartment has a Provencal palette of colors. I loved shopping for tiles when I designed the kitchen and bathroom here twenty years ago. Well, my tastes are now outdated and the look is cold, urban grays and whites. I don’t like it at all. So the search is on for the “outdated” tiles I desire! We walked from the tile quarter in Manhattan to the East Village and I took Gary to the Organic Grill. I knew he would love it. First, they serve loose leaf tea in small and large pots, the only way tea should be served.

I chose the Indecisive Plate, because I couldn’t decide. I got Pancakes, Tempeh Bacon, Potatoes and Tofu Scramble with fresh Strawberries.

My Burrito Boy ordered the Breakfast Burrito.

All along I was really craving the Tofu Scramble so when I finished my plate, I ordered an extra side.

Once sufficiently nourished we shopped at Mooshoes and Nordstrom Rack for vegan boots. We were successful and are ready for winter in New York.

Third Meal: After a long day of walking up and down Manhattan we came home and had a light meal: Romaine Lettuce Salad and baked Sweet Potatoes. No, our organic lettuce was not the kind that was recalled with E. coli contamination.
