What Vegans Eat – Day 1762: Travel Edition, San Jose

Share

First Meal: Another great hotel breakfast in our hotel room, prepared by Gary and Caryn, the Swingin’ Gourmets! I made cups of Cashew Yogurt with fresh Blueberries, Bananas and Apples, all organic. Why can’t the hotel serve something like this?

Tea: No trip to San Jose would be right without a trip to Roy’s Station. I had my Peach Apricot Tea with Steamed Almond Milk. Yum. Gary’s cousin Nancy and her husband Wade rolled in on their bikes with one of their dogs and my friend Ann joined us as well. I got an outdoor table that was covered in case the rain decided to come down. It was perfect. Great tea, great company.

I brought along one of the Vegan Bistro Donuts to share with everyone.

Second Meal: Our quick trip ended as it began with a visit to the Vegetarian House. It’s getting cold now and I wanted soup. Big Soup. The Flying Buddha Hot Pot is the only answer with Napa Cabbage, Tofu, Taro, Carrot, Mushroom & Yam Flour Crescents, Chinese Dates, Ginkgo Nuts, Ginger and Cilantro.

Gary ordered the Queens Joy, which we called Steak and Onions: Soy Protein with Onions & Garlic pan fried in a house special sauce.

And our new favorite Happy Crispy Rice. It goes with everything and makes us happy. Now to fly home to New York with full, happy bellies.
