What Vegans Eat – Day 1820


First Meal: Gary and I were going in super early for more auditions today. We arrived at Actor’s Equity at about 7:45am and there was another big crowd of people waiting. This time we were numbers 51 and 52. At 8am they let us upstairs to the audition rooms. We got our times. I chose to read for one audition at 9:30am and come back later for another at 4:50pm. Gary picked 12:30p for his audition. I went home to practice my song for the afternoon audition. I made a quick soup from Shiitake Mushrooms and cooked Rice and gobbled it up quickly.

I ate a banana just before returning to Manhattan for my other audition.
Second Meal: Gary waited for me after my audition. Then we walked to Blossom for dinner. We haven’t been to the 9th Avenue location in a long time. We began with celebratory beers. Life is good!

We started with Black-Eyed Pea Cakes with a Chipotle Aioli. Yum.

Gary chose the Market Plate, selecting four sides: Truffled Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli Rabe, Braised Garlic Tofu and Creamy Polenta.

The Spaghetti Squash Cake and Mushroom Risotto, sautéed Spinach and Saffron Cashew Cream had my name all over it.

We shared the Tiramisu. It was a memorable night.
