Breakfast: Gary says I am impressionable. While finishing reading Dr. Karin Dina’s book, Raw Food Nutrition Handbook for my radio show later in the day, I was thinking of the 1/3 head of cabbage in the refrigerator. We were getting a GoOrganicNYC delivery today and that cabbage had to be eaten before the new one arrived. As I read about the many benefits of whole, raw, plant foods, I decided I would shred the cabbage, and grate some carrots and apples for a breakfast salad. I tossed it with apple cider vinegar and sesame seeds.
Daily Green Juice: Kale, Collards, Celery, Carrots, Lemon, Ginger
Dinner: Our GoOrganicNYC delivery arrived with beautiful produce. I ordered one head of cabbage and they gave us two! That meant more cabbage for dinner. I shredded one head and used a third of it for a Cabbage, Onion, Kidney Bean, Ginger, Garlic, Miso Stir Fry with Brown Rice.
Evening: Nine years ago I began treatment for advanced ovarian cancer. Several years later I started to write a book about the experience and today the first draft was complete. We sat down with celebratory bottles of Stella Artois and Air Pop with Almonds and I read Gary the first five chapters. Woo hoo!
