Breakfast: I was planning on spending the day at Memorial Sloan Kettering while a close relative went through surgery. I made some Genmaicha tea and filled one of my Takeya Glass bottles. Then I packed a frozen green juice, banana, a pear and a bag of Zippy’s Veggie Bites and was on my way. All morning while waiting for updates before the surgery started I munched on my fruit and bites and sipped on tea.
Lunch: My parents and I thought we’d check out the cafeteria and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This hospital has come a long way in the last few years since I was there. The salad bar had many nice offerings and I made myself a lovely bowlful.
Daily Green Juice: Once defrosted, I was happy to have my green juice made from Kale, Collards, Carrots, Lime, Lemon
Dinner: The surgery was long, about 7 hours. My parents and I ventured out for a meal and found a place that we all didn’t mind eating at – Patsy’s Pizzeria. I ordered the sautéed broccoli with garlic and a salad.
