What Vegans Eat – Day 477: Special Travel Edition


Breakfast: We had a morning meeting at the Los Gatos Brewing Company about our upcoming Musical Theater Workshops this month. Breakfast was English Breakfast tea with Soy Milk.
Lunch: Gary and I looked at each other and knew the place to go for lunch. Dharma’s in Santa Cruz! I’ve been going there since the 1980’s! But the prices are getting steep. Fortunately there was a Groupon available. I grabbed it and we headed over the hill to Santa Cruz. I was craving the big Gardener’s Salad with Sunflower Sprouts, Beans, Carrots, Sunflower Seeds and Mixed Greens, plus a fabulous Tahini Dressing. Gary got his favorite Breakfast Burrito and House Chai.
Daily Green Juice: New Leaf in Santa Cruz makes the best green juice – with Kale and lots of ginger. I also treated myself to a Rice Dream Mint Pie. This is an old favorite treat. Back in the days when there weren’t many vegan products in stores, there was Rice Dream and their vegan version of the It’s It, ice cream sandwiched between two cookies.
Dinner: Back at the guest house I made a big salad with Corn Tortillas, Black Beans, Tomato, Avocado, Mushrooms, Nutritional Yeast and Lime Juice.
Evening: The perfect treat at the end of the day – a bowl of organic Cherries and Strawberries.
