Brunch: It was a lovely Saturday morning. The kind we hadn’t had in a while. The apartment was cozy on this rainy morning. We were relaxed, drank Vanilla Black Tea and read the New York Times. It was the kind of morning where nothing of consequence happened, just life. Life as we like it.
Gary made brunch, creating something like a cross between his Gary’s Eggs and Easy Spinach Frittata, with Millet instead of Tofu and a side of Tempeh Bacon and some leftover Salad from the night before. When you get the hang of using chickpea flour as an “egg” batter, you can get creative with it and make it however you like it. Adding the leftover cooked millet was fantastic, adding a sweet flavor and chewy texture.
Daily Green Juice: Kale, Collards, Celery, Carrots, Ginger, Lemon
Dinner: It’s a few nights before the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah. Gary and I celebrate most holidays without ceremony or dogma, just good food. As I made the traditional Sweet As Honey Cake, I asked Gary to make Spinach Lasagna with Spicy Marinara, It was just another Saturday night with The Italian and The Jew.
Ooh that lasagna was good and there is plenty more for the next day or two.
Evening: Of course we sneaked a slice of Sweet as Honey Cake and had it with Teecino.
