Brunch: I went with a savory meal -Cream of Cauliflower Soup with freshly grated Nutmeg and Black Pepper. Pop! Goes the flavor. Gary had a nice bowl of Oatmeal.
Daily Green Juice: Kale, Collards, Cleery, Carrots, Lemon, Ginger
Dinner: Getting creative, again, Gary made a Cauliflower Béchamel Sauce with the remaining soup to top the leftover Lasagna. He’s a genius. I know I’ve set it before but it’s true. It was served with a fresh, crisp Romaine Lettuce Salad with Tomatoes and Little Seed Caesar Dressing.
Next up, we enjoyed a nice, steamy cup of Teeccino with a slice, (a sliver!) of Sweet as Honey cake. This is how we celebrate the Jewish New Year!
It was a late night. We had tickets to see the last show of the Joey Alexander Band at Dizzy’s Coco Cola Club in Manhattan at 9pm. We were celebrating. Ten years ago, I went into the hospital for a blood transfusion to prepare for a hysterectomy and learned I had advanced ovarian cancer. With that so far behind me, I ordered a beer to begin the celebration. Gary got a bottle of Saratoga Sparkling Water.
Joey was amazing when I saw him play at 11 years old. Now at 13, he’s all grown up and spectacular.
Evening: We got home, happy, wound up, with our hearts full of sweet sounds and dreams of endless possibilities. Thank you, Joey, for showing us the best in all of us, the best we can be. Here’s to a sweet year, everybody – Apples and Agave.
