What Vegans Eat – Day 697: Travel Edition

Breakfast: Our Fiddler On the Roof project is about to begin. Today is our Orientation when we will do a table reading of the script and discuss the concept for this workshop production. We made Oatmeal with Coconut Flakes, Bananaa and Apples and had some Earl Grey Tea.

Daily Green Juice: Whole Foods Campbell Blend

Lunch: I picked up a “Make Your Own” Burrito at Whole Foods. During our break I ate about half of it. The other half was for Gary but he was too busy and only got in about one bite. The producer, Barb, brought us each some tea from Peet’s, Earl Grey with Soy Milk.

Dinner: We have to hit all our favorites now that we are in the South Bay. We met Gary’s nephew Josh at the Veggie Grill at Westgate. I ordered the Grilled Quinoa + Veg Burger, a Scratch-made quinoa+kale+mushroom burger grilled and topped with Chao cheese, house-pickled red onions, arugula, vegan mayo and drizzled cilantro pesto, served on a Brioche bun. And it came with some Veggie Beef Soup. I enjoyed it all, but somehow, I am never satisfied at Veggie Grill. I typically leave a little hungry.

Gary chose the Buffalo Bomber, with Crispy Chickin’ tossed with spicy Buffalo sauce, tomato, red onion, lettuce and creamy ranch dressing.

And Josh got his regular, the Grillin’ Chickin’ with avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cilantro pesto and chipotle ranch.

Evening: Gary made an extra trip to Trader Joe’s and picked up some Soy Creamy. I had some on one of the remaining Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I had made last week in New York. It’s It!
