What Vegans Eat – Day 1108

Lunch: After being away from home for so long it was very nice to wake up in our bed. What wasn’t nice was that I couldn’t sleep in! I had scheduled some coaching calls with clients in the morning and then I had to move the car. It’s Thursday and the car was parked on the side that gets cleaned today from 11:30am to 1pm. I thought that would be a good time to visit my mom. I hadn’t seen her for a couple of months. She is recently widowed and living alone. It’s not easy for her.
After taking care of a few things in my mother’s house I suggested we go to the club house in her complex and have lunch. She’s never done that in the 12 or more years she and my dad have lived there. The club house was being renovated but there was an area set aside for the restaurant and there was a very nice buffet. I took 3 big servings of salad.

My mom had just about everything else there including desserts. I had Strawberries, Blueberries and Melons.

Dinner: My original plan was to do some food shopping on the way home, but it was cold and rainy and I was tired. We decided instead to visit Green Zenphony. I began with the Roast Soy Duck Cold Cuts.

Gary had the Barbecue Veggie Ribs.

Bean Curd with Tomato and Basil sounded good to me tonight and it was.

The Veggie Roast Pork Noodle Soup was Gary’s choice.

Evening: Still feeling like exhausted zombies, we sat and had some Rooibos Chai with Soy Foam. You know you are home when Gary makes soy foam.
