What Vegans Eat – Day 1236, Travel Edition – Bay Area, CA

Breakfast: Repeat, repeat, it’s a repeat: Oats, Cacao Nibs, Bananas, Raisins, Soy Milk. We like this. It never gets boring.

Lunch: I had a rehearsal at 11:30am with our pianist for an upcoming fundraiser. It was good to sing some of my repertoire with a live pianist. Then I led a music rehearsal from 1-4pm. I got hungry and grazed on an Apple, some Greens, and Peanuts.

Dinner: Gary and I went out with Brennan and Jacqui who are playing the Baker and the Baker’s Wife in the show. We went to Ludwig’s German Table, a very cute place, a restaurant and biergarten in the historic Germania Hall of San Jose. Of course we had beer! Gary was driving so he had a Pink Lemonade.

There were a few vegan options. I ordered Sauerkraut.

Gary and I both tried the Potato Salad and Gary got the Beet Salad. I was glad to eat but honestly, the food was not so good. The beer and company were much better.

Evening: Back at the house I lied down to rest. I was exhausted. Gary made a dish with Cauliflower, Tempeh, Raisins, Pea Pods, Carrots.

After the beer and German food, I was only up for having Quinoa, which I ate with Nutritional Yeast.
