What Vegans Eat – Day 1286

Share

Breakfast: Today we unveiled my Dad’s grave marker. It was a sad time, but there were lots of sweet moments and good memories. In the Jewish tradition we leave small stones or rocks on the grave as a sign that we visited. Rather than stones, my sister suggested we place small bowling pins on the grave since my dad was a big fan of bowling and a great bowler. Everyone got to place a pin. I also left a small heart made of glass – in honor of our name, Hartglass.

Lunch: After the unveiling we went to mom’s house. Gary and I put out all the food we made and there were a few other non vegan platters too. We ate our six salads and told stories about Dad. Everyone ate well, but as usual there was plenty left over. We had put all of our dishes in Pyrex Bowls so packing up was easy. We just put the covers back on the bowls and brought them home and put them in the refrigerator. Later in the afternoon we had more. I added Sliced Tomatoes to the plates containing Global Community Kale Salad, Sweet Potato Black Bean Salad, Red Pepper Hummus, Vegan Chopped Liver, Tofu No-Egg Salad and Crudités.

Dinner: Gary had his final performance of Sign of the Times this evening. What a long day! We stopped at a Starbucks near the theater and had some Evolution Green Juices. The show didn’t start until 9pm so we got home late. It was fun to see the play again and see Gary’s character evolve. We were hungry when we got home and ate more of our prepared salads.
