Breakfast: It’s back to basic with English Breakfast tea and rolled oats with banana, apples and raisins with a few sunflower seeds and peanuts sprinkled in the mix. The highlight of this breakfast was the fresh orange from cousin Nancy’s tree. Fragrant, not too sweet and nicely tart.

Lunch: We went for a walk in downtown Los Gatos. Afterwards I was really thirsty. We stopped into Adalé Los Gatos Patio. I wasn’t hungry but wished I was. I just got an iced tea and it was fragrant and refreshing. Gary got these beautiful tofu tacos: three soft corn tacos filled with fajita-style tofu sautéed with serrano salsa ranchera, with cilantro rice and black beans.

Dinner: Still not too hungry, we joined Gary’s brother and sister-in-law for dinner at Steamer’s of Los Gatos. I ordered a Stella Artois with one of the special salads du jour which consisted of frisée lettuce, fava beans, asparagus and tomatoes. It was good, but there were only 3 fava beans on my salad. I love fava beans and rarely see them offered on menus. I was hoping for a few more.

Evening:
We got back to the house and I gave in to the temptation offered of a bowl of Soy Creamy Vanilla and Black Cherry Ice Creams.
