Breakfast: More strawberries please! When foods are in season that’s when it’s time to enjoy them. I am in strawberry country at the moment and I am taking advantage. Only organic strawberries of course – no methyl bromide for me please.
Lunch: Gary and I went for a run/walk on one of the Los Gato Creek Trails. It was the steep one, that is out in the dry, hot sun and heads up to the reservoir. Afterwards, we rewarded ourselves by going back to Andalé. I needed to hydrate with their fruity ice tea. We both had the tofu tacos. I had the fahita-style tofu.
Gary tried the sautéed tofu tacos.
Both were excellent. Every mouthful was amazing, down to the last bite. It was all seasoned to perfection, but they had some wonderful, house-made sauces and we had to try them all. The secret to great food is in the sauces.
Dinner: We were invited to dinner at Gary’s sister Deb’s home. I got to help brother-in-law Allen a bit with his website before starting dinner. I started with a green salad.
Then I filled my plated with artichokes, Brussels Sprouts and Field Roast Sausage.
We had brought some medjool dates. Deb put them out after dinner with a plate of raw almonds, cashews and walnuts. This was a perfect way to end a nice meal: whole, plant-foods, nature’s candy! You don’t have to feel guilty about eating these foods because they are as good for you as they are delicious.
