Breakfast: Thanksgiving Weekend has come to an end and life is almost back to normal. Almost. Mom is still in the hospital and I will likely bring her home this evening. But first, it’s time to get back to my life! Gary had an acting class today. I left a little later for a lunch appointment with a distant cousin, Sam whom I have never met. I grabbed a piece of raw Pecan Pie (great for breakfast!), and packed a Pear and an Apple.
Lunch: I met Sam at the Marseille Restaurant in Manhattan. Sam is a veteran comedian and actor and has voiced Donald Duck for Disney Studios. He had invited his friends to lunch, most of them were Broadway actor/dancers. They reminisced about the old days. It was fun hearing the stories. I didn’t think there would be much to eat at the restaurant for me but I ordered a very satisfying salad.
Mom called me a million times while I was at the restaurant. She wanted to leave the hospital and go home. I spoke with doctors and case managers too. I apologized to the lunch guests for leaving the table so many times.
The weather got nasty. Gary met me at home and insisted on driving me to the hospital to get my mom. The hospital is nestled in the woods and it was dark, treacherous driving. We got my mom and brought her home. She was exhausted and went to bed.
Dinner: Finally at home we were both very thirsty. We drank a lot of water and had some Oranges. Gary does a beautiful job slicing them!
We’re just about done with the Thanksgiving leftovers. We had the Pumpkin Seed Crusted Tofu Steaks and Turnip Cakes along with Steamed Kale and Purple Sweet Potatoes.
We had opened a couple of bottles of Oko wine for Thanksgiving. I had a glass of Cabernet to relax.
