What Vegans Eat – Day 1480

Share

First Meal: Our first meal came late, at 2pm. We were ready for it with a good appetite. This is one of my favorite kinds of meals, with the whole grain, the bean and the sauce already made. Today we had organic Black Beans. organic Brown Rice, organic Purple Sweet Potatoes, Avocado and organic Tahini Dressing.

Second Meal: It’s the day before Gary’s dad’s funeral. We went to the mortuary to view his body. We were joined by Gary’s sister and brother-in-law and some of the cousins. Afterwards, we went to Crepes Bistro with Gary’s cousin Nancy and her husband Wade. We always have a good time with them. I decided NOT to order a crepe. Nancy ordered the Garden Crepe and Gary chose his Avocado Crepe. Wade ordered the Lentil Soup. He dipped his spoon into the soup and got a big hit of lemon. He wasn’t expecting that! He surmised that the cook squeezed some lemon juice into his bowl and it wasn’t stirred into the soup. A lesson learned – stir your soup before eating.

I was in the mood for a salad and I got a beautiful one, the Quinoa Salad.

I also ordered the Vegetable Pattie. I was enjoying my salad and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. I had forgotten I had ordered it. It was a Falafel. Why didn’t they call it that?

Later, back at the house Gary made his new favorite, refreshing dessert – fresh Oranges from his cousin’s tree with organic Blueberries and organic Strawberries.
