Breakfast: The day began with a treat! One hamentaschen cookie. Why not? It’s like a breakfast pastry and the modification I made to the recipe gave the dough a bread-like texture. I had it with Genmaicha Green Tea and an orange. It went well with the book I was finishing for my interview later in the day with Christopher Leonard, author of The Meat Racket, The Secret Takeover of America’s Food Business. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK! He clearly shows us what modern day feudalism looks like in the United States.
It was a hectic day, with a lot of time spent on the telephone. Do you remember the telephone? I barely use mine for actual talking but I spent hours speaking to friends and family and did an interview by phone with the plant-based cardiologist on her podcast, Plant Based Wellness
which should post soon. Add in another hour via Skype for my IT’S ALL ABOUT FOOD show, and that’s a lot of talking for one day.
Lunch and Dinner: Those slow cooking split peas from the day before were now settled into a lovely soup. I enjoyed some for lunch with my Daily Green Juice of Kale, Collards, Celery, Lemon and Lime, and then had more later for dinner.
Evening: The evening ended the way it began. With a cookie! The Hamentaschen were calling me all day and I finally answered their call and enjoyed them with peppermint tea.
