Breakfast: We walked around Monterey and stopped at Peets for some Earl Grey tea with Soy Milk. Tea is always better brewed in a tea pot and served in tea cups. Plus there is less waste than in paper cups!
Lunch: I was craving a big salad and after looking at all the restaurants near the hotel we were staying at, Chipotle’s was the winner. We had big Veggie Salads with Guacamole.
Daily Green Juice: Fortunately Jamba Juice is now offering greener healthier options including green juice and we picked up a couple there.
Dinner:: We found a little Middle Eastern Restaurant called Petra’s while walking around town earlier in the day. Looking at the menu we saw they had Ful, a fava bean dish made with garlic, olive oil and lemon. I love this dish and rarely see it offered so we decided to come back for dinner. We shared the Ful with a Falafel plate that had Hummus, Tabouli and Stuffed Grape Leaves and pita bread. I loved it but it was very heavy and rich. It sat for a long time in my belly.
Evening: After our performance we met everyone from the conference over at the Crown and Anchor and enjoyed Stella Artois. Unfortunately I did not know until writing this post that they offer vegan options on their menu. Since we were attending an annual event, we’ll have to remember this for next year.
