What Vegans Eat – Day 645: Special Travel Edition

Share

Breakfast: We got up in the morning, well-rested and hungry. We need to go food shopping but fortunately I had packed some of our favorite teas. I made a pot of Irish Breakfast tea before we went out to hunt for breakfast. We were in the car with the idea we would go to Hobee’s in Cupertino when we got a call from Gary’s sister to meet her at the doctor’s office where Gary’s dad was getting his hand checked out. He had taken a fall a few weeks ago and his hand was not healing too well. After taking care of Gary’s dad we were extra hungry. We had originally wanted to go to the Vegetarian House but it didn’t open until 11:30am. By now it was about 11:15am so we happily skipped Hobee’s and went to our home away from home.

Lunch: We went with our usual favorites. How could we not? The Heavenly Salad was as heavenly as it could be.

The Flying Buddha soup had us soaring!

Gary wanted some Brown Rice. He didn’t realize he ordered a Brown Rice dish, not plain rice, but it was fantastic, with bits of Wakame Sea Vegetable.

Gary took a bathroom break but what he was really doing was buying me a box of Sjaak’s Vegan Chocolates! How sweet. We each had a piece. Mm. Yum.

After lunch we picked up some basics at Whole Foods: Soy Milk, Oats, Apples, Grapes, Onions, Beans, Kale, Arugula and Corn Tortillas. Then we headed over to the Historic Hoover Theater where we were giving a Musical Theater workshop for Playful People Productions from 4-9pm. The producer, Barbara, greeted us with a bag of goodies: Red and Yellow Bell Peppers and Broccoli.

Dinner: After the workshop we took a trip to Safeway to get some water. We got back to the pool house exhausted and ate some Red Grapes and Apples.
