What Vegans Eat – Day 646: Special Travel Edition

Breakfast: We had a meeting with the Playful People Productions’ producer Barbara at Philz in Los Gatos. It was a fun coffee shop with an upbeat staff. I ordered a Chai with Almond Milk. It was a beautiful day and I was happy to sit outside in the sun and make my own vitamin D.

Lunch: After our meeting and super hungry, I searched on my phone for a nearby place with vegan options. The Reggae Pot looked good. When we found it in the back of a strip mall Gary was a bit wary. But it turned out to be wonderful. We each got the Jerk Tofu Salad with Corn Bread. Gary had some Ginger Tea. It was fresh and we enjoyed it a lot. The restaurant has been there for almost a year and we hope they will stick around. It’s a tough business and they are in an odd location. But the food is good and worth a visit!

I brought the box of Sjaak’s chocolates and Gary and I each had a piece.

Dinner: We gave another Musical Theatre workshop for the Playful People group. Their producer, Barbara, brought all kinds of chips and apples for the group and two kinds of vegan soups for me and Gary from the Park Station Hashery. One was an Eggplant soup and the other was Tomato Basil. They were both very fresh tasting, like soup we would make at home. Then Gary made a vegetable sauté per my intructions using some of the veggies Barbara had giving us plus some we bought: Red Onions, Bell Peppers, Kale, Black Beans and Field Roast Apple Maple Breakfast Sausages.
