What Vegans Eat – Day 651: Special Travel Edition

Share

Breakfast: Gary was giving a theater lecture at San Jose High School and I was preparing from my IT’S ALL ABOUT FOOD program. He left before I did but we both grabbed similar breakfasts – Rolled Oats with Raisins and Soy Milk. Gary put an Apple in his cereal and I ate one later on the side. We’re even.

Lunch: We had lunch at Andale in Los Gatos, with our newest favorite, the Andale Burrito with Fajita Style Tofu.

Dinner: I was meeting my friend Nancy at her home in San Francisco. We were overdue for catching up and scheduled a long chat. We drank tea and played Monopoly Junior and foosball with her 5-year-old son and when his other mom Jane came home we were free to get some dinner. I was dreaming of going to Herbivore on Valencia but found out it had closed a few months ago. This was hard news to take! We’ve loved Herbivore for a long time. It was the best vegan food in San Franscisco. I will be grieving for a while. We were going to go to Cha Ya, also on Valencia but we saw Cafe Ethiopia a few blocks away and went there instead. Ethiopian food is a lot of fun to eat.

Before leaving, Jane presented me with a beautiful bunch of organic Nantes Carrots. What a sweet gift! We’ll be munching on these tomorrow.
